Pulborough RFC under 14's match against Hayward's Heath on Sunday 9th March was given a boost from Dole Fresh UK with a kind donation of bananas.
With Pulborough's destiny in their own hands, needing to win their last two league games of the season to maintain their place in the Sussex A league for next season, they faced a Hayward's Heath team one place above them in the league.
A strong Pulborough RFC team listened to classical music and were provided with bananas from Dole Fresh UK to boost energy levels before the game.
The first quarter saw a cracking game of rugby and Borough went in leading 7-0 and came out in the second quarter having to play up the slope.
Half time brought another banana and saw the best twenty minutes of rugby played by Pulborough this season and ended with them taking a 14-0 lead. Hayward's Heath fought back in the last 10 minutes and used the slope to their advantage and scored two late tries.
The final score was 14-12 to Pulborough RFC who moved off the bottom of the league and up two places to 6th.
